Masterpieces

One thing these two love to do is paint. Although messy, it keeps them happy and entertained for quite some time.

Addison wondering why in the world the paparazzi is harassing her when she is trying to create her masterpiece.

Audrey was so intent on her work, she didn't even notice the camera. She was very proud of her beautiful work. Her creation was intended for Grammy and Grandaddy, so it is in an envelope ready to be delivered to them :)

Jack-O-Lantern Craft

Audrey and Addison love making crafts. I used to do this craft with my students when I taught 2nd grade and they always enjoyed it.

I thought I would give it a try with my girls. It was a big hit with them, too. Addison enjoyed tearing all the paper and Audrey glued it down and cut out the pieces for the face.

They did a wonderful job.

We made a couple extra Jack-O-Lanterns and gave them to Grammy and Nana.

Making Ants

Since school has been out this summer, I've tried to continue some "school" here at home. We work on some letter recognition, phonics, and math, but I also try to include some science and art. We don't do "school" everyday, but on those days we spend at home we do some activities to keep them entertained.

This particular day we read a book from the library, Ants In Your Pants and learned some facts about ants. Then we repurposed some egg cartons, paint and pipe cleaners to create our "ants". Addison even got in on the activity and loved it. She had a blast painting the ants (and everything else in sight---thank goodness for washable paint!)

Audrey took her work very seriously.

They were so proud of their project.

Audrey's Artistic Talents

Audrey was in the bathroom a bit longer than usual...and very quiet. So I decided to check in to see if she was okay.

This is what found...

Audrey had used toilet paper to create a masterpiece on this towel. She figured out that the tissue would stick on the towel by itself. (smart girl!)

According to Audrey, this is a picture of a dog. And you can tell that she was very proud of her handiwork.
