Finally...a Beautiful Day!
We've finally had a reprieve from all the cold, windy, rainy, winter weather...thank goodness! So we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day and take the girls to the park.
All of us enjoyed the sunshine, fun and laughter.
Addison thought she was a big girl sliding down the slide.

Silly Hat Day
Today was "Silly Hat Day" at Audrey's preschool. We decorated her hat together last night. She told me what design she wanted and I assisted with the more difficult things.
The students wore their hats to school and had a "silly hat" parade. Everyone looked adorable!

"Big Girls" Day Out
It is rare for me to be able to spend time alone with my first born...just her and me. So whenever the opportunity presents itself, I jump at it. Today, we got to have, what Audrey called, our "Big Girls Day Out".
Our day started out at the eye doctor. Not exactly "fun", but time together, nonetheless. Audrey had been complaining about her eyes, so after a several days of the same complaint, I decided I'd better take her just to get checked out. Thankfully, other than sensitive eyes, everything looked perfect.
Next, we dropped off some items that we were donating to a local Christian pregnancy center.
After that, we went to get my hair cut. Audrey thought she was such a big girl because, since noone else was in the salon, they let her have the run of the show. She checked out every chair, dryer, brush, etc. in the place. That lucky girl even walked out of the place with a pocket full of candy.
Then we set out for the fun stuff! We went to Toys-R-Us, where we walked around playing with all the toys and searched for a special toy for Audrey for being such a great patient at the eye doctor. Audrey also purchased a present to give Addison for her birthday.
Once we left there, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Jason's Deli. Topping that off with some yummy ice cream.
Finally, we couldn't end a girls day out without a stop by the mall. I had to exchange a couple of things I had purchased for Addison. Then we just walked around with her little hand in mine, enjoying our Mommy/Daughter time together.
At the end of the day, Audrey said, "Mommy, I had such a fun girls day with you!" "It was a great day!". That was the perfect ending to a perfect day!
What a wonderful, special day we shared! I can't wait to do it again!

Addison- 11 Months
Sweet baby girl,

In less than a month we will be celebrating your 1st birthday. How can that be??? Surely it was just yesterday that we were bringing this tiny, easygoing, quiet baby into our house. Well, those adjectives no longer describe you. In 11 short months, you have become a spirited, loving little girl who's full of personality. We have started the weaning process, and I'm not sure who it is more difficult for...you or Mommy.

I am holding on to these precious days as tightly as possible as I kiss those dimpled knees, soft toes and feel you snuggle against me as you grow sleepy.

Here are some things I don't want to forget...
Addison, you-
*weigh 18 lbs 5 oz.
* are 28 1/4 inches long
*wear size 3 diapers
*wear size 9 months and 12 months clothes
*have learned to do the motions to "If You're Happy and You Know It" when I sing to you
*can do the sign language for "more", "please", and "thank you" when we prompt you
*mostly eat table foods. You love just about anything.
*are cruising around the furniture
*can walk while holding on to a push toy
*love to lay your head on us (or a favorite toy) to give love/snuggles
*get the biggest smile on your face when your daddy walks into a room
*are not sleeping very well. You wake up several times a night and mommy is having to let you cry yourself back to sleep :(
*love dancing and bouncing to music
*are still afraid of animals and any loud noises. You scare VERY easily.
*are soooo strong-willed and determined. If we call you to keep you from going to another room you see how fast you can crawl away.
*love sneaking into Audrey's room
*have such fun playing with the play kitchen or in the ball pit
*eat EVERYTHING! Most books are missing the corners and parts of their pages because you have eaten them.
*are loved and adored!
