Little Cooks

These two little girls LOVE to "cook" at their play kitchen. Well, Audrey "cooks" and Addison loves chewing on all of the play food and banging all the dishes. They spend a lot of time together at their kitchen. I just love watching them play together.

(Excuse the pjs in the middle of the day...it was one of our lazy days where we just played all day :) )

We call this particular spoon the "spitty spoon". It is a flexible toddler spoon that she loves to chew on. Usually it is covered in slobber...hence the name "spitty spoon". You have to be cautious because she loves to share the spoon with you, which means you get lots of spitty along with it.

Isn't this the most adorable apron?! Audrey decided that Addison needed to wear it if she was going to help her cook.

Snow Day

February 10, 2011- We woke up to this amazing sight. Not something we see very often living in the south, so we have to enjoy it on those rare times we do get the "white stuff".

I was so excited to wake up and see snow covering the ground. Such a beautiful part of God's creation. So, of course, I had to grab my camera for some great photo ops!

The girls were grabbed out of bed and bundled up so we could all go out for a little play time before Audrey had to go to school.

This was Addison's first "real" snow. It snowed a few weeks before but it was so rainy at the same time that it all just turned to one big sheet of ice. Since we couldn't play in it then, I am considering this her first real snow.

She didn't mind it at all...until one of her gloves slipped off of her hand as she was crawling around in the snow. She wasn't a happy camper after that!

Audrey had a blast throwing snow in the air, slinging snowballs and helping her daddy create a mini-snowman.

Audrey was telling Addison, "Addison, now this is called snow. Can you say s-n-o-w?" So funny!

Then she felt the need to tell me what it was, too! Such a smart kid!

Here, Audrey was explaining to her daddy what all they needed to do to make the snowman.

They are getting the snow for the snowman.

Audrey and Corey showing off their final product! Such fun times!!

Addison's 1st Birthday-2-15-2011

Our little bit turned 1 year old! I still can't believe it! I have a post about her and all she has been doing lately, but I wanted to share about her special day.

It didn't turn out the way I had planned and dreamed. We spent the majority of her big day at my grandfather's funeral. But we did start the morning out with a little something special for her.

We were at my parents' house since we were having the funeral that day, so one good thing was that they got to see her on her birthday. I made "birthday muffins" (a family tradition) for her that morning. These are just blueberry/strawberry muffins with a candle.

Addison was serenaded with the birthday song by everyone. She wasn't sure what to do with the candle, so big sister Audrey helped blow it out for her. Once the candle was out, Addison snatched the whole muffin up and stuffed it into her mouth. Everyone got a kick out of that.

Addison also got to open a little gift on her big day. (With a little help from Audrey, of course).
It was a special day, filled with many mixed emotions.

We love you, Little Bit! Happy 1st Birthday!

Their Passion/ Hobbies - Assignment 9

My man is always working on or tinkering with something. I'm not really sure I would call it his passion/hobby because he loves to hunt, fish, and play golf. But since I didn't have the opportunity to catch those photos, I decided to photograph what he spends alot of his time doing at the house.

Now he has a little assistant to help him out. :)

Generations - Assignment 7

In these photos, there are 4 generations represented. How fortunate I am to be able to enjoy these days that my children get to be loved on by their Mommy, grandmother and great-grandmother!

Who They Love - Assignment 6

Audrey loves her Lambie and Doggie. They go everywhere with her.

Addison loves her Taggie blankie. It has become her go-to lovey when she is tired, fussy or hurt.

We ALWAYS have to make sure to have these favorite lovey items! Otherwise, it is a miserable day!

Their Space - Assignment 10

This is his space. Once the girls are down for the night, he kicks back in his recliner to watch television. And usually falls asleep right there.
