Our little gymnast

Audrey attended her first gymnastics class last night. She was so precious. She didn’t hesitate for a minute once she saw all of the other children participate. As a matter of fact, she told me “I do it” several times when she didn’t want my assistance.

She wasn’t ready to leave when the class was over. Since leaving gymnastics last night, all she has talked about was “turning a flip” and “jumping”. Miss Priss even told me that was what her and her daddy were going to do today. I would love to see Corey “turn a flip”…of course I’m sure he would for his little princess.

Audrey made us proud! I am so excited that she loved it so much and can’t wait to go back.
Below are a couple of videos I uploaded of her class last night.

What's better than a "hot pickle"?

That is Audrey's way of saying "popsicle". And she thinks that each time we go out to play she has to have one. But who can blame her in this summer heat?!

She really likes them, but isn't so sure about them being so cold.
So, what is cuter than a toddler with sticky popsicle stains all over her face?

Why little, chubby toddler hands holding that "hot pickle", of course!

Summer Lovin'

I don't really love summer. Maybe when I was a kid...well and when I was teaching school to...I liked summertime because you got out of school. But now, it is just too stinking hot for me. So what better way to spend the day, than splashing with my cutie pie 2 year old in the pool. Tons of fun, and I can stay cool...well, sorta! It is Alabama, after all.

Her favorite thing about being in the pool is pouring the water OUT of the pool. Go figure!
And of course this gives me good reason to take more pictures!!

Dora Live

Corey, being the loving father that he is, was watching Dora with Audrey one day and saw the commercial for Dora Live. And what do you know, they were coming to Birmingham. He wanted to take Audrey to see the show, so he called me to give me the info and set the wheels in motion for the purchase of tickets and such.

We were a little concerned that Audrey would be scared of the "big" Dora and other characters, but on June 10 we headed out for our adventure.

She LOVED it!!!!! I don't think she even blinked for the first 30 mintues of the show. It was so fun, bright, and professional. Even Corey and I loved it.

I would've taken pictures myself, but they had the "camera patrol" out in full force and those folks were threatening to take your cameras and cell phones if they even saw it out in the open. A little overboard...yes, I do think so. This was a kids performance!!! Come on. Anyway, since I like my camera, I kept it put away~ thankyouverymuch~!

So, you will have to take my word for it. Audrey was a cutie pie and we all had a terrific time.

Summertime Art

Our little monkey loves spending time outside. She apparently really enjoys the sidewalk paint I bought for her. What beautiful artwork she creates!

And one of her favorite saying here..."One more time" when she is told to come inside.

This kid makes us laugh every.single.day!

Perspective

As I was reading Nan's blog today, I couldn't help but laugh at her latest post. Gosh...it really puts things in perspective as to how our government really is. Heehee...I'm still laughing...to keep from crying!

Goodbye, Paci

Dear Paci,

What a bittersweet day it is! You have been a wonderful companion for many, many months. Without you, the colic would’ve left me completely bald and teething would have made us all cry. Oh, and to think of those many sleepless nights when I searched blindly and half asleep for you in the crib and all around on the floor. Yes, you have been a good one…even though I had to search far and wide to locate the company from which to order you. But in all circumstances, you have been a trouper.

However, on this glorious day…we must say goodbye, forever. Audrey is a big girl now!

Yes, you guessed it. Today is officially the beginning of a paci-free life for Audrey.
