Addison's First (and Second) Tooth

September 15, 2010 Addison turned 7 months old AND she reached another milestone...her 1st tooth.  Just a few days later her 2nd tooth popped through!  Addison just loves smiling big so you can see those new pearly whites!

And just because I think she is so darn cute (especially in her jeans) I thought I'd include a few more photos!

Addison is checking out her new kicks!

A Date...With My Daughter

As I've mentioned, Audrey's been having a bit of separation anxiety when I am not around.  Also, she is a wonderful big sister, but sometimes that jealousy sneaks in.  So, I thought it would be a good idea for just me and her go on a "date".  Corey stayed home with Addison. Audrey got to choose our activities.

We started out at Toys R Us.  She enjoyed browsing around and playing with all the toys.  She selected a toy to take to her friend's birthday party that was coming soon.  Then she was allowed to select a present for herself.  I had to get some spoiling in, of course!

Next, we headed to McDonalds (Audrey calls it "old McDonalds") for some playtime on the indoor playground and chicken nuggets and fries.  Before heading home, we stopped for chocolate milkshakes.

We enjoyed lots of laughter and snuggles.  I can't wait to do it again!

Momma Said There Would Be Days Like This...

Oh my!  That is all I know to say at this time.

I usually post on my blog about the fun, sweet things my children do or the milestones they reach, but this post is going to be different.  Here you will see some honest mommy thoughts which have evolved due to the events of the past several days...

Now, I LOVE my girls...with all my heart.  They are my world.  I am so thankful that I get to work from home and spend LOTS of quality time with them and loving on them.  I wouldn't have it any other way.  That being said...I've thought seriously about getting a one way ticket to some place like Hawaii or really anywhere serene that is FAR, FAR away.

For starters, Addison is cutting teeth.  Yikes!  One has already come through and the other is trying desperately to break through.  And she is NOT a happy camper.  She's been fussy morning, noon and night.  Poor baby, I know it hurts...but OH MY!

And let's just talk about Addison's temper!  Yep, she got it from her Daddy.  Don't let that cute smile fool you.  Just take one of her toys away or move something that she is trying to get into and watch the tantrum fly!  OH MY!!

Then---Audrey, as some of you know if you keep up with us, started preschool several weeks ago.  Well, she is having some pretty rough separation anxiety.  She cries the whole time at preschool, plus she even gets upset if I leave the house and she stays with Corey.  It breaks my heart, so that has been pretty stressful for me.  And that isn't the only thing that preschool has done for us.  Many people told me that she was going to pick up some unpleasant behaviors from school, and you bet she did!  Oh, the sassiness and defiance have my hair turning gray as I type!  I thought that didn't come until we were close to teenage years...(sigh).  Plus, the temper tantrums are quite dramatic as well.  I just THOUGHT we escaped the "terrible two tantrums", but no--they just waited until 3 to show up.  OH MY!!

Here is a story to top it all off--- Audrey told me she needed to use the bathroom the other day, so I told her to go on to the bathroom (we were playing in the living room).  A few minutes later she returns and mentions to me that she peed in her trash can.  WHAT?!?  Yep, you read that right!  My sweet, precious, adorable Audrey decided to forgo the toilet and just try out the trash can instead.  Now, I have to admit that this stunt required some talent on her part.  I was so shocked, upset, angry...I went storming outside and informed Corey that he needed to take care of his daughter because I just didn't have it in me to handle that episode.

After all was said and done, Audrey promised not to use the trash can as a toilet...and when she wasn't looking, Corey and I had to laugh.  'Cause you gotta admit, that was sorta funny. Heck, she didn't even get any on the carpet!

WAR EAGLE!!!

Living here in T-town is pretty rotten this time of year.  You pretty much put your life at risk to walk out of your house wearing orange and blue...but no matter the cost, we want to raise our girls right!  So we don them in these oh-so-cute Auburn dresses and let them be proud!  They will have to learn to be tough to put up with all the bullying and crazy comments from some of these people here!  But we figure they will learn bravery.  There are a few of us smart folks that live here, too. And we are proud to be Auburn Tigers!!! WAR EAGLE!!!

(Note: To our Alabama fan friends...we love you too :) )

Audrey has learned to say War Eagle and Go Auburn...she says it when ANY football game is on...not only Auburn.  She is such a good little cheerleader!

Camo Cuties

I just love Fall. When I think of Fall, things like cooler days, colorful leaves, football games come to mind. And when you grow up in a family like mine...it means camo and hunting season.

Well these two cuties aren't quite old enough to follow Daddy out into the woods hunting just yet...but their kind, generous Aunt Carolyn saw these adorable camo outfits and bought them for the girls.

Now, how cute is this?!

Please notice the numerous fat rolls on Addison's cute little leg. Don't you just want to pinch those thighs? :)

The hat is compliments of Grammy and Granddaddy. Audrey has one too...but we couldn't locate it for this photoshoot. :(

Playdate Fun

I was so thrilled when my friend Diana asked me to keep her little cutie ZK while she went to a bridal shower. ZK is 10 days older than Addison and we always joke that they will be 'partners in crime'. Looks like we might have that right according to these photos.

Addison and ZK had such fun together. Audrey was my little babysitter/entertainer. I had fun watching the 3 of them together.

All of the girls were just perfect and content. No one shed any tears. It was a blast!

I wish I knew what these 2 were thinking!

Audrey spent the entire time entertaining these 2. She just loves being a big helper.

Good hugs!

Fun and giggles!

Audrey taking care of ZK.

I put Addison and ZK facing each other in the excersaucer and jumperoo. I think they competed to see who could jump the most. They just squealed and babbled to each other. So cute~!

Addison- 6 months

(I know this is a little delayed...but at least I got it up before she turned 7 months- haha)

HAPPY 1/2 YEAR BIRTHDAY!!!

August 15, 2010 Our sweet Addison turned 6 months old. Has it really been 1/2 a year since I delivered this sweet beauty?! What an incredible 6 months it has been!

Things about Addison Brooke at 6 months old-

You:

- are wearing size 3 diapers
- are wearing a mixture of 3-6 months and 6-9 month clothes, many 3-6 months are getting too short
- weigh 16 pounds
- are 26 1/4 inches long
- are NOT too crazy about peas, but love some squash and carrots.

- make a really funny face and do a little shiver when you eat any kind of fruit...I'm not really sure what that is all about
- sleep pretty well at night, from 8 pm-4 or 5 am then wake to eat and go back to sleep until about 7am.
- are finally learning to take pretty good naps about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes long- one at 10:30 am the other around 2:30 pm

- have a TEMPER! If someone takes a toy you really want you have a meltdown. The worst is when mommy wipes your face after a meal and takes the washcloth away. You really like chewing on the cloth and will throw a fit when it is taken from you.
- love watching your sister play and constantly try to get into all her toys.
- can log roll all over the house
- have learned to army crawl to wherever you want to go. It is so cute!

- enjoy taking a bath in the tub with Audrey. You have fun splashing with her.
- smile often and give good kisses
- startle very easily at sudden movements and loud noises
- love sucking on your toes
- will jump forever in your jumperoo

As you can tell in the above photos, Addison was very happy. Good thing I took these photos in quick succession because things deteriorated very quickly as evident in the photos below. At least I got a few good ones. She was NOT having anymore photos taken!
Isn't that pitiful?!
