The Easter Tree

This tradition started many, many years ago. When my brother and I were little, Nana would always have us help her decorate an Easter Tree in her front yard. We hung plastic Easter eggs from the branches. After a while we grew older and that tradition stopped. Well this year, I decided it was time to bring it back. My girls are old enough to enjoy it and I wanted them to have those wonderful memories as well. Since Easter will be the first holiday we will celebrate without Pawpaw, my family is trying to cope with the huge hole we still feel within our family. So, I thought some family time and Easter Tree decorating would do us all good, especially Nana. Here is Uncle Keith, Audrey and Addison pulling all the eggs out so we can begin tying the fishing string.

Everyone working on the eggs. (Granddaddy, Grammy, Addison, Uncle Keith, Audrey, Aunt Carol, Nana)

Aunt Carol and Audrey share some snuggles.

Addison loved admiring the colorful eggs...

...then snatching them down. I spent most of my time replacing the ones she removed.

Grammy got in on the activity.

We put Nana to work too!

Aunt Carol hung some eggs, too, until Audrey pulled her away to hide and find Easter eggs.

Here is Nana and the girls in front of their beautiful Easter Tree.

It was a wonderful day full of laughter and memories!
