Zoo Adventures

This past weekend the girls and I went to visit my parents and the rest of my family. Corey was working for 4 days straight, so instead of sitting home by ourselves, we figured we would go have some fun with my family.

While we were there, my mom, Audrey, Addison and I visited the zoo.

The weather was perfect and the company was wonderful. Lots of smiles and giggles.

This moment was one that had me laughing. Audrey and Addison were both standing right up next to the glass. When the cheetah decided to walk really close to the glass, Addison was NOT a happy camper and backed up very quickly while yelling "CAT, CAT".


What would a trip to the zoo be without a train ride? Riding with Grammy made it even better.

I did get in a couple of the photos because Grammy was so kind to grab the camera and snap a few.

Both girls enjoyed the "cats"- as Addison referred to all the feline family as just "cats".

Each time we go to the zoo, Audrey likes to stand here so we can measure her. Geez, not too long ago she stood in that same spot and barely got to the 3 ft mark. Now she is several inches taller than that.

During our visit to the zoo, the workers were setting up for the upcoming ZooBoo. They had all kinds of decorations and characters.

My girls spotted this "Dora" (not the exact Dora they are used to...but close enough) and they just had to have their photo with her. Such funny girls!

Then we couldn't leave the zoo without some time on the super awesome playground. Grammy snapped a few photos of me playing on the slide with the girls :)

We certainly had some fun times!

Birmingham Zoo Trip

 A few weeks ago Corey and I took the girls to the Birmingham Zoo.  We had a wonderful time!

Addison was worn out about 3/4 of the way through, so she took a little cat nap. 

 

While Addison was napping, Audrey and I rode a few rounds on the carousel. 

Then we went to the butterfly garden.  Audrey wanted so badly for a butterfly to land on her pinky (like Fancy Nancy) so she sat very still and waited, and waited...and waited.

Finally, she went in search of one to land on her.

Next, she practiced a little rooster calling.  I'm thinking she might become a professional.  (Is there such a thing?? haha)

Just before we left, she had to play for a while at the splash pad.  



The day was filled with wonderful family moments and memories.  

Zoo Trip

Grammy (my mom) and I took Audrey and Addison to Montgomery Zoo for a reward for Audrey's behavior the last several days. This was Addison's first trip to the zoo.

Although it was pretty toasty that day, we had a wonderful time. Audrey really enjoyed it. She even walked the entire time (we were there for 5 hours!).

Zoo Trip

Last weekend, we took a family trip to the zoo. Corey didn't get to attend because of his work schedule, but everyone else was in attendance. Audrey was old enough to enjoy running around (notice the "puppy backpack" which serves as our "leash". She loves it and I don't have to worry about her running off (and that Miss Busy-body will do in a heartbeat).

Audrey can't say the names of most of the animals but she can identify them by pointing them out in the books that we read to her. So, on this trip to the zoo she was facinated to see them in real life. She couldn't quite understand why she couldn't pet them though.

The weather was just perfect, and the fellowship, sweet.
